Terms and Conditions apply to the website www.bookinabox.dk and the products offered on the website’s webshop. By using the website or purchasing a product on the webshop, you accept the terms and agree to be bound by them. 2. Ordering
2.1 You can only order a product or subscription if you are 18 years old or older, or if you have consent from your parents or guardian. Book in a Box delivers worldwide.
2.2 Once you have ordered a product, you will receive a confirmation email at the email address you provided during the order. The agreement becomes effective either when we have sent you the confirmation email or when the product has been delivered to you. Book in a Box reserves the right to cancel your order at any time due to typographical errors, technical issues, delivery failures, or similar situations.
2.4 It is also possible to purchase selected items on www.bookinabox.dk without a membership or subscribtion plan.
2.5 We reserve the right to refuse to do business with you without providing a reason.
2.6 Reselling of products purchased from Book in a Box is not allowed.
3. Prices and Payment
3.1 Except for obvious typographical errors, the prices and shipping costs displayed on the website apply. All prices are retail prices including VAT.
3.2 Prices and shipping costs may be changed at any time, but the price you pay at the time of ordering is valid for your order.
3.3 On www.bookinabox.dk you can pay with credit- or payment card.
3.4 The payment will only be deducted once your order is completed, meaning when it is shipped to you.
3.5 Offers and discounts cannot be combined with existing discounts, reduced items, or price promotions.
3.1 Prices and Payment regarding Preorders
3.1.1 The payment will be deducted as soon as the order has been made – meaning before your order is completed and shipped to you.
3.1.2 In the event that the company goes bankrupt before the ordered goods or services have been delivered, you, the consumer, risks losing your prepayment. This is because, according to Section 112 of the Payment Act, it can be difficult to get the money back, as prepayments are not necessarily prioritized in the bankruptcy proceedings
4. Delivery
4.1 Delivery times can vary depending on where you live. International orders can vary greatly depending on where you live. Delivery is generally expected in 2-4 weeks. Remember during busy times of the year and holidays, orders can get caught up in customs and being sorted into your local postal service, and may need a bit more time.
4.2 We cannot be held responsible for incorrect or incomplete delivery information, and you cannot change your delivery address after your payment has been confirmed.
4.3 Book in a Box is responsible for the products until you have received them. If the package is marked as delivered by the shipping provider but not received by the customer, the customer must contact and report the incident to the shipping provider within 5 days, as otherwise, claims for compensation may be forfeited.
4.4 If a Book in a Box product is out of stock, we reserve the right not to deliver the particular product. In such cases, no payment will be processed for the order, and you will be notified as soon as possible.
5. Right of Withdrawal
6.1 According to the rules of the Consumer Contracts Act, you have the right to withdraw your order within 14 days from the day you received your product.
6.2 To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must send a notification within the 14-day withdrawal period to kontakt@bookinabox.dk and return the item to Book in a Box within 14 days after giving notice of withdrawal.
6.2.1 When returning the goods, you should ensure they are unused, in their original packaging, and securely packaged. You are responsible for the items until we receive them back. Therefore, please keep the postage receipt and any tracking number if you are sending the goods to us.
6.2.2 You are responsible for covering the costs of returning the goods. We do not accept packages sent cash on delivery or without delivery confirmation. The return costs will depend on the specific item. Therefore, we encourage you to check prices with various shipping providers.
6.3 You can only exercise your right of withdrawal if the condition of the Book in a Box products remains unchanged. You forfeit the right of withdrawal if you break the seal or packaging of the products. You are responsible for any depreciation in the value of the products resulting from handling other than what is necessary to determine the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the goods. In case of depreciation, this amount will be deducted from the refund.
6.4 Upon receiving the returned item, we will inspect it, and you will be refunded the amount you paid at the time of purchase, minus any depreciation as per point 7 below. You will receive the refund promptly, and no later than 14 days after we have received the item.
6.5 The refund amount will always be transferred to the same payment method that you used for the purchase. For instance, if you paid with a debit or credit card, the purchase amount will be refunded to that card.
6.6 When returning the purchased item in case of withdrawal, you are responsible for covering the return shipping costs.
7. Return Policy
7.1 If you return a product for another valid reason, we will examine the returned product and notify you within a reasonable period with information regarding your refund. To request compensation or a refund, please contact Book in a Box within 14 days of delivery.
7.2 You are responsible for the costs of returning the Book in a Box product to us. Items cannot be sent cash on delivery or without delivery confirmation. You must pay for the return shipping of the item yourself.
7.3 If you return a Bookinabox product to us for other reasons (such as a defective product), we will inspect the returned item and notify you via email within a reasonable timeframe regarding your refund.
7.4 We will refund the amount using the payment method that you used for the original transaction.
7.5 When returning the item, please include a copy of the order confirmation or a note with the following information: full name, address, and order number.
8. Complaints and Warranty
8.1 If you wish to file a complaint, you can contact us via kontakt@bookinabox.dk. If we cannot find a solution, you can submit your complaint to the Center for Complaint Resolution, provided the conditions are met. The Center for Complaint Resolution can be contacted at Carl Jacobsens Vej 35, 2500 Valby, or via email at cfk@kfst.dk.
8.2 The European Commission has a platform for online dispute resolution (ODR) which allows consumers to submit complaints directly to companies in EU countries. You can access the complaint portal via the following link: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/.
8.3 When you shop on Bookinabox.dk, you have a 24-month warranty period. This allows you to have the product repaired, replaced, refunded, or receive a price reduction, depending on your situation.
8.3.1 It is a requirement that the complaint is justified and that the defect did not arise from improper use or abusive behavior. We will refund your shipping costs if the complaint is justified.
8.4 You must file a complaint within a reasonable time after discovering a defect. If the complaint is made within 2 months after discovering the defect, it will always be considered timely.
9. Responsibility
9.1 If it is a consumer purchase, our liability for the delivered Bookinabox products is governed by the chapter concerning Consumer Purchases in the Danish Sale of Goods Act (LBKG 2003-03-28 nr 237).
10. Reservations and Disclaimer
10.1 Bookinabox is not responsible for any failure or delay in fulfilling any of our obligations under a subscription caused by events outside our reasonable control (force majeure).
10.2 Force majeure includes any act, event, omission, or accident beyond our reasonable control.
10.3 Our services under any subscription are considered suspended during the period of the force majeure event. Bookinabox will use reasonable efforts to bring the force majeure event to an end or to find a solution by which our obligations under your subscription can be fulfilled.
10.4 Bookinabox.dk also reserves the right for changes in fees, price and proofreading errors, technical errors, as well as out-of-stock items.
11. Third-party websites
11.1 Bookinabox.dk may contain links to websites operated by our partners, advertisers, affiliates, or other third parties. We are not responsible for the content of these websites or the goods and services offered there.
12. Notices
12.1 Messages to us should be sent to kontakt@bookinabox.dk. Messages to you will be sent to the email address you provided when creating your user account.
13. Intellectual Property Rights
13.1 Bookinabox owns all intellectual property rights to the website and all materials posted on it. Rights and materials are protected by copyright, and any rights in this regard are reserved.
13.2 For personal use, you may print a copy or download excerpts of pages from the website. You may not use our copyrighted material for commercial purposes without obtaining a license from Bookinabox.
13.3 By subscribing to a subscription, you grant us an irrevocable right to quote from comments about Bookinabox, our products, and/or subscriptions that you have posted on our website, blog, or social media. We may use these quotes on our website, social media channels, and in other marketing materials.
14. Additions and Changes to Terms
14.1 We may make additions or changes to these terms. You are bound by the conditions that apply at the time you subscribe to Bookinabox, unless we notify you of changes to these terms and you notify us within 60 days from the date the email is sent that you do not accept the amended terms.
15. Law and Disputes
15.1 These terms and your subscription shall be interpreted and applied in accordance with Danish law. Disputes will be settled by the Danish civil courts.
